NEW YORK—Euro RSCG Middleberg has formed an exclusive joint venture with investor relations Edward Nebb, founder and president of Comm-Counsellors, to launch a new financial communications practice. Nebb will lead an effort to grow Middleberg’s IR capabilities and provide strategic counsel to current and future clients.

Nebb had been serving in a consulting role to some Middleberg clients since April. His areas of expertise include disclosure and corporate governance issues, buy-side and sell-side outreach, financial media positioning, and communications for public offerings. Nebb also brings experience in the areas of transaction and crisis communications and has worked on a number of high profile M&A deals, proxy fights, litigation and corporate reorganizations.

“The launch of our investor relations practice is a natural extension of the corporate and financial communications services we already offer to our clients,” said Don Middleberg, chairman and CEO of Euro RSCG Middleberg, which has been redefining itself after the collapse of the dot-com market with which it was strongly identified.

“We have long sought to expand our capabilities in IR, but we wanted to ensure that we could offer our clients the best in the business. With Ed on board, we now have that capability and are looking forward to growing the IR practice area.”

Nebb has worked with a number of high profile clients including Bristol-Myers Squibb, Conseco, Dime Bank and Prudential Insurance. Prior to founding Comm-Counsellors last year, he headed the financial communications practices at The Hawthorn Group and BSMG Worldwide and was a partner at Morgen-Walke Associates.

“With today’s volatile equity markets and intense scrutiny of corporate financial reporting and governance, there has never been a greater need for credible investor communication,” said Nebb. “Middleberg understands the importance of providing investor relations as part of a full range of communications services to its clients.”
