NEW YORK—MetLife has named David Monfried senior vice president and head of corporate communications. Reporting to Lisa Weber, senior executive vice president and chief administrative officer, Monfried will be responsible for MetLife’s advertising, creative services, internal communications and public relations.
“As MetLife broadens its global reach and strengthens its market position, we recognized the need to recruit a senior-level professional with significant experience in advertising, branding and corporate communications,” said Weber.
Monfried comes to MetLife from The St. Paul Companies, which he joined in 1998 and where he has been vice president of corporate communications, responsible for the company’s internal and external communications programs, including media relations; employee, financial and executive communications; advertising and branding.
Prior to The St. Paul, Monfried held similar positions with Dun & Bradstreet and Pacific Gas & Electric Company. He began his career at The Equitable, which has since been acquired by AXA Financial.
