NEW YORK— Sarah Hull has been named head of corporate communications and public affairs at Swiss biotechnology company Syngenta. She will be based in Washington, D.C., and will report to the company’s chairman, Heinz Imhof.
Syngenta was created in 2000 by the merger of Novartis agribusiness operations and the agrochemicals unit of Zeneca.
Prior to joining Syngenta, Ms. Hull served from 2001 as senior vice president, global public affairs at Monsanto Co., St. Louis.
She began her career in politics, as press secretary for a Florida statewide ballot initiative; in a New Hampshire congressional campaign; a Connecticut gubernatorial campaign; on the press advance team for Senator John Glenn (Dem., Ohio); and later for Walter Mondale’s presidential campaign. In 1988, she became a vice president at Robinson Lake Lerer & Montgomery, and later moved to Fleishman-Hillard in Kansas City as a senior vice president and partner.
