WASHINGTON, D.C.—MWW Group has named William Morley as senior vice president and managing director of the agency’s Washington, D.C. office. Morley is replacing Jonathan Slade who served for 12 years as head of MWW’s Washington operation.

He joins MWW following seven years as vice president of congressional affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where he helped manage lobbying and grassroots strategies for the Chamber’s 15-person team of lobbyists.

Prior to his role as lead congressional lobbyist at the Chamber, Morley served as general counsel to U.S. Senate Judiciary Chairman, Senator Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) and as senior staff for the Senate Judiciary Committee.

“Bill will be an incredible asset for our clients as we build an even stronger presence for MWW in Washington, D.C.,” says Michael Kempner, president and CEO of MWW Group.  “He brings a vast network of relationships with key congressional and administration players and a deep understanding of the inner workings of Capitol Hill and the executive branch.

“During his tenure with the Chamber, he helped lead the business community’s efforts on trade issues, legal reform and pharmaceutical industry priorities, and demonstrated an extraordinary ability to work effectively with both sides of the aisle.”
