Frederick “Rick” Morris has been named president of Smith & Harroff, a Virginia-based public affairs and advertising firm. He takes over as president from co-founder of the firm Jay Smith, who will retain the chief executive officer title.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Frederick “Rick” Morris has been named president of Smith & Harroff, a Virginia-based public affairs and advertising firm. He takes over as president from co-founder of the firm Jay Smith, who will retain the chief executive officer title.

Morris joined the firm in 1977 and has had responsibility for a number of the firm’s largest communications and public affairs projects, including assignments for the Nuclear Energy Institute, Westinghouse Electric Corporation, Alcan Aluminum Corporation and the Consumer Aerosol Products Council. His areas of expertise include advocacy advertising, media relations, issue management and strategic planning. He
