NEW YORK, November 1—Manning Selvage & Lee, one of the leaders among global agencies in the ethnic marketing arena thanks to its Bromley/MS&L Hispanic communications unit, has launched Pangea Public Relations, which will provide broad-based multicultural communications expertise. The new firm will be part of Pangea, an integrated multicultural communications group launched this week by MS&L parent company Bcom3 Group.

Pangea Public Relations will include Bromley/MS&L, headquartered in San Antonio, which will be rebranded, and a team in MS&L’s New York office. The group will by Jeremy Jacob, senior vice president and deputy director of global accounts for MS&L, who becomes become managing director of Pangea Public Relations. Deborah Vallejo, senior vice president and managing director of Bromley/MS&L, will become a director.

“Pangea Public Relations taps into an unmet need in the marketplace and draws on the wealth of resources and talent within the newly formed Pangea network as well as within MS&L,” says Jacob. “Our goal is to help clients understand and respond to the changing multi-cultural demographics in North America.”

Pangea Public Relations has several industry leaders on its client roster, including Western Union.

Also part of the broader Pangea group are San Antonio-based Bromley Communications and Chicago-based Lápiz (both of which specialize in the Hispanic market) and New York-based Vigilante (which targets urban and African-American consumers). Pangea is also forming an exclusive, non-equity affiliation with New-A Inc., a New York-based agency group that targets Asian-Americans and will include double platinum, a boutique agency that targets the gay and lesbian market.

Christopher Ang has been named chief integration officer for the group, and has transferred into the organization from sister Bcom3 agency D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles where he was senior vice president, global client managing director on the Western Union account. He will continue to oversee that relationship outside the U.S.

The Pangea vision as defined by its leadership team is “We are many faces with one strong voice reinventing the way the world goes to market.”
