SAN FRANCISCO—Chiron Corporation, the world’s fifth largest biotechnology company, has selected Manning Selvage & Lee to provide public relations counsel for its Chiron Blood Testing division. Teams from MS&L’s San Francisco and Washington, D.C., global health practices participated in the pitch. MS&L’s Frankfurt and London offices began a relationship with Chiron earlier this year.
The Chiron account will be led by MS&L’s west coast global health practice leader Michele Parisi, with support from account supervisor Meg Wanick and Mark Senak’s health policy group in the Washington office.
As part of the effort, MS&L will manage all communications surrounding CBT’s Procleix HIV-1/HCV Assay for screening donated whole blood, a nucleic acid amplification test system of a kind recently approved by the FDA. The technology has helped reduce the risk of HIV transmission through transfusion.
