Murray St John Joins Smith & Harroff as Partner

Kathryn Murray St. John, former president and chief executive officer of the Washington, D.C. office of Cohn & Wolfe, has joined Alexandria-based Smith & Harroff, as a partner.

ALEXANDRIA, February 8—Kathryn Murray St. John, former president and chief executive officer of the Washington, D.C. office of Cohn & Wolfe, has joined Alexandria-based Smith & Harroff, as a partner. 
 
St. John has more than 25 years of experience in the public policy and communications fields in both the corporate and political arenas. Her areas of expertise include crisis communications, strategic planning, issues management and media relations.
 
“Kathryn’s experience and skills are a perfect match for Smith & Harroff and provide us with the added dimension we need to better serve our clients,” stated Jay Smith, President and CEO of the firm.  “Our position as an agile and strategic issues management team, combined with our creative advertising, has proven to be a successful combination that allows us to perform quickly and effectively for our clients.”
 
At Cohn & Wolfe, St. John worked for clients including the Reserve Officers Association, The Century Council and Glaxo SmithKline.  Previously she was a partner at BSMG Worldwide. St. John has also worked as a consultant to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Department of Energy and the Office of Drug Planning and Outreach in the U.S. Department of Education.
