EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ—MWW Group has become the latest public relations firm to launch a sustainable technologies practice, a new specialty group with focused expertise in marketing eco-responsible technologies and positioning technology companies for which environmental sustainability is a key factor in their research and development or product portfolio.

The sustainable technologies practice will utilize the expertise and best practices of the agency’s technology,  corporate social responsibility and investor relations practices to promote the value proposition of “green” technologies and processes, from straight-forward consumption and efficiency statements to true business and corporate citizenship differentiators.

“Too many companies continue to look at environmentally-responsible technologies as ‘nice to haves,’” said Michael Kempner, president and CEO of MWW Group.  “The reality is that a number of innovative companies are bringing eco-responsible technologies to market that not only help protect and preserve our environment; they help drive bottom-line corporate performance.

“I believe that over the next few years we are going to see a dramatic increase in socially-conscious investing here in the United States. As European companies have learned, the investment community looks kindly on environmental sustainability and the rewards drive share prices.”

Through its work with Scottish Development International, MWW Group supports a number of U.K.-based renewable energy and green technology companies looking to develop partnerships and market products in the United States, including Ocean Power Delivery, the European Marine Energy Centre, Talisman Energy, the Beatrice Wind Farm Demonstrator Project and Renewable Devices. MWW Group also represents the Office of Clean Energy at the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities and works closely with client Sun Microsystems, on environmentally-responsible technologies.

Other firms launching clean technology practices in recent weeks include Text 100, Trevelino Keller Group and Weber Shandwick.
