LAKE OSWEGO, OR, and MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA—A trio of veteran public relations professionals have joined forces to launch Mobility Public Relations, a new PR firm focused exclusively on mobile-related technologies, products, and services.

John Sidline, Melissa Burns and John Giddings—who between them boast 40 years experience in the sector—hope to capitalize on analyst predictions of high growth in mobile technology.

“We define ‘mobility’ as the ability gained through technology for people to have anything they need, anytime they need it, anywhere they are,” says Sidline. “It’s no accident the three principals chose to focus on mobility technology; this exciting space is part of our DNA.”

For the last four years, Sidline ran corporate communications at remote access and wi-fi pioneer iPass. He previously managed PR at Global Crossing and Internet hosting startup GlobalCenter (now Savvis).  He has experience in IPOs and mergers and acquisitions and of new SEC publicity rules under Sarbanes-Oxley.

Burns was previously account director at The Hoffman Agency, where her client roster included iPass, Amazon.com, HP, Sony, and Dolby Laboratories. Giddings spent six years overseeing corporate communications at real-time digital video networking company Terayon and served on the analyst relations team at Cisco Systems and as a vice president at Technology Solutions.
