McGrath/Power Public Relations & Communications has named Siobhan MacDermott as a client services director.

SANTA CLARA—McGrath/Power Public Relations & Communications has named Siobhan MacDermott as a client services director. She will split duties between client management, program implementation, and new business development. Before joining McGrath/Power, MacDermott was a director focused on wireless and competitive intelligence at Neale-May & Partners/GlobalFluency, a Silicon Valley public relations agency. Previously, she ran her own agency, Takatech.

SEATTLE—The Seattle office of APCO Worldwide has been retained to provide public affairs and strategic communications services to Pacific Medical Centers, formerly known as PacMed Clinics. APCO has been commissioned to assist the Seattle-based healthcare provider with media relations, government relations and public outreach, among other services.

LAS VEGAS—Starr Seigle Communications has merged its PR operation, StarrPR, with Codella Marketing. Clients serviced by StarrPR-Las Vegas include Sprint PCS in Las Vegas and Phoenix, Lake Mead Hospital Medical Center in North Las Vegas, United Way of Southern Nevada, Pinnacle Health System and Red Rock Radiology, among others.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—EADS North America has named Diane Williams Murphy as vice president of communications and public relations. EADS North America is the holding company for the North American activities of EADS, the second largest aerospace and defense company in the world. Previously, Murphy was president and CEO of Federal City Communications, a communications agency based in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles, California, specializing in aerospace, defense, telecommunications, IT, and entertainment.

STAFFORD, VA—Susan Carol Associates Public Relations has formalized a business alliance with London’s Hierarchy Consulting. The alliance is designed to help SCAPR better serve its growing roster of international clients, especially in the financial services industry. “Hierarchy Consulting can assist SCAPR in localizing a message or image to adapt it to regional interests and standards without compromising an established corporate brand, assuring it can be recognized and appreciated globally,” says Susan Carol.

FAIRFIELD, NJ—Coyne Public Relations has expanded the expertise of its technology and consumer groups with the addition of two new members.  Joe Clark joins the agency as an account supervisor handling a number of technology-based clients, and Stefanie Brychcy joins as an assistant account executive in the consumer group.

CENTURY CITY, CA—The Pollack PR Marketing Group has been retained by Rain Bird Corporation’s Consumer Products Division. The engagement represents an extension of PPMG’s PR agency of record relationship for Rain Bird’s corporate division, which includes the agency’s PR efforts for Rain Bird’s annual participation in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena. PPMG will plan and execute a variety of media relations and marketing communications strategies focused on expanding market awareness for Rain Bird’s diverse array of consumer products.
