Nissan Hires Stevens to Lead North American Communications

Nissan North America has named Scott Stevens as vice president of corporate communications, Nissan Americas. Stevens succeeds Alan Buddendeck, who in February was named corporate vice president, global communications.

FRANKLIN, TN—Nissan North America has named Scott Stevens as vice president of corporate communications, Nissan Americas. Stevens succeeds Alan Buddendeck, who in February was named corporate vice president, global communications, global brand communications and corporate social responsibility department at Nissan Motor Co.in Japan.

 

Stevens will be responsible for all product, corporate and internal communications in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. He will report to Carlos Tavares, chairman of the management committee, Americas.

 

Most recently, Stevens was president of Cardinal Communications in Austin, Tex., where he worked with a global network of media consultants, writers and graphic artists to manage image-building for international clients. Before that, he served as global director of communications for Motorola Semiconductor Products Sector and its successor, Freescale Semiconductor, where his responsibilities included the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe. He was based in Hong Kong and Austin.

 

Earlier, Stevens held communications management positions supporting Motorola's manufacturing and wireless divisions and worked in communications for IBM, SEMATECH and the Texas Department of Commerce.
