STAVENGER, NORWAY — Norwegian energy giant Statoil has extended its global PR relationship with WPP firms H+K Strategies and Finsbury for another two years following a non-competitive review.

The $3m business, which has been led by Norwegian firm Gambit H+K since 2006, was last reviewed in 2013, amid global expansion at Statoil following major discoveries in the Norwegian Sea and Tanzania.

Finsbury was hired to provide financial PR support, while H+K focuses on corporate and brand communications, sponsorship support, public affairs, media and crisis support, sustainability comms and content development. For example, the firm supported Statoil's crisis response following terrorist attacks in Algeria.

Key markets for the brief include Norway, UK, Germany, US, Canada, Brussels. The business is led by H+K Strategies EMEA CEO Lars Erik Grønntun.

"We are delighted that after a review of our longstanding partnership we are able to continue working alongside Statoil over the next years, helping them grow their commanding position within the global energy sector," said Grønntun. "Statoil are, and will remain, a key H+K client and I would like to thank them for their continued trust in H+K."
