CHICAGO—Weber Shandwick has been retained by Nuveen Investments for marketing and public relations, following a competitive review. The agency’s financial services marketing practice, based in Chicago, will manage the account.

“Weber Shandwick’s financial services marketing practice is a proven leader,” said Alan Brown, Nuveen’s chief marketing officer. “We’re eager to build on the tremendous power of our trusted, 104-year-old Nuveen brand. We have strengthened and diversified our investment management expertise in recent years, making us a leader in equity-based separately-managed-accounts, closed-end exchange-traded-funds, as well as fixed income products. We’re looking to Weber Shandwick to help us get the word out to our target markets, including financial advisors and their high-net-worth clients.”

Chris Allen, Nuveen’s vice president of corporate communications, will be responsible for leading and managing the relationship. Bill Schilling, vice president of the financial services marketing practice at
Weber Shandwick, will lead the agency’s efforts.
