NASHVILLE, TN—McNeely Pigott & Fox Public Relations has hired Devin O’Brien as director of the company’s Washington, DC, office.
O’Brien comes to MP&F with nearly 10 years of experience working in outreach, communications and public policy positions in the US Senate, the executive branch, the US House of Representatives and the private sector. Before joining MP&F, he was a senior manager for the energy consulting practice at New West Technologies, where he oversaw the management of client work and coordinated outreach and business development activities.
In public service, his most recent position was as a professional staff member with the U.S. Senate Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee, for ranking member Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine). There he developed coalitions across industrial and critical infrastructure sectors, led policy efforts to support private-sector cybersecurity, and managed outreach to the international community.
Before working in the Senate, O’Brien served as the external affairs adviser to the assistant secretary of Infrastructure Protection at the US Department of Homeland Security and held a number of staff positions in the U.S. House of Representatives. While working for Congress, he was a legislative adviser to then Chief Deputy Majority Whip and now House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va).
