Ogilvy Acquires Majority Stake in German Affiliate

WPP Germany has acquired a majority interest in German public relations agency cp&z kommunikationberatung, an affiliate of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide since 2004, which will now become Ogilvy’s German operation and will be known as cpz Ogilvy Public Relations.

MULHEIM, GERMANY—WPP Germany has acquired a majority interest in German public relations agency cp&z kommunikationberatung, an affiliate of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide since 2004, which will now become Ogilvy’s German operation and will be known as cpz Ogilvy Public Relations. Ulrike Zimmermann, agency founder and managing partner will now become managing director of cpz Ogilvy Public Relations.

cp&z clients include international companies such as Motorola and BP Castrol as well as German medium-sized companies like Fissler and Leonardo. The firm, which was founded in 1997 and has 13 employees, is also a leading provider of strategic communications for national and international law firms in Germany.

cp&z will also work closely with other Ogilvy agencies in Germany. Ogilvy Germany supports more than 200 clients including American Express, Bausparkasse Schwäbisch Hall, Aral/BP, Cisco Systems, Deutsche Bahn, Deutsche Finanzagentur, DKV, Dresdner Bank, Ford, IBM, Kodak, Kraft Foods, Mattel, Motorola, and Unilever Bestfoods.
