BRUSSELS—Ogilvy Group Belgium has been awarded the framework contract for strategic communication campaigns for the European Commission’s Directorate-General for the Environment. The contract is worth a maximum of €2.5 million euro per year and is renewable twice for a total contract period of three years.

The new assignment follows an award-winning campaign “Biodiversity: We are all in this together,” created by Ogilvy Group Belgium on behalf of the European Commission earlier this year. The pan-European campaign rolled out in all 27 EU Member States and featured a website, a Facebook application, a film, public relations outreach, street art (green graffiti technique) and advertisements in print and online media.

The new contract encompasses the development of campaign strategy, creative work, graphical design, audiovisual and online production, public relations and social media.

The work will commence with a campaign about resource efficiency, a central theme for DG Environment activities in 2011 and will encourage European citizens to change their behavior and make more sustainable choices.
