BOGOTA—Ogilvy PR has extended its remit as Colombia's primary PR agency to include a number of Latin American markets.

The agency, which has worked for Colombia in the US, Canada and the Caribbean for several years, has added PR duties for Peru, El Salvador, Honduras and Guatamela.

The assignment will retain the same goals as Ogilvy's work in other markets — help Colombia tell a more compelling story to investment, tourism and export audiences.

Ogilvy's contract is with ProExport, the Colombian government agency that promotes trade, investment and tourism.

Ogilvy Media Influence MD Jennifer Risi told the Holmes Report that the firm would focus on "top-tier media and specialised media that a lot of the specific audiences read."

She added that all three pillars — investment, tourism and exports — will be deployed in each of the four new markets. "They can ladder up to a bigger strategy by using Ogilvy," added Risi.

It is understood that ProExport previously worked with local agencies in the four Latin American markets.
