WASHINGTON, D.C.— Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide has promoted Linda Weinberg to co-head of its Washington-based social marketing practice alongside Jennifer Wayman. Current campaigns include campaigns to successfully raise awareness, educate and prompt action regarding some of today’s largest and most complex issues, ranging from HIV/AIDS, stroke, heart disease, women’s health, and cancer prevention to substance abuse, nutrition and homeland security.
Weinberg has nearly two decades of experience creating, implementing and managing national public health and behavior change communications programs and is also an expert in risk communications.
In addition, executive vice president Yolan LaPorte has been promoted to a new position and will spearhead initiatives to foster the global development of the social marketing practice. Laporte has managed multiple disease-prevention and health-promotion initiatives for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, including Anthrax, West Nile virus, and smallpox crisis communications, as well as the award-winning America Responds to AIDS program.
