SOLON, OH—Northeast Ohio public relations executives David Meeker and Davis Young, both veterans of Edward Howard & Co., are launching a communication training venture to provide specialized instruction and counsel for business leaders.

Young, former president of Edward Howard, also served as chairman of the Counselors Academy of the Public Relations Society of America and is an adjunct faculty member at Kent State University. Meeker served for many years as executive vice president of Edward Howard after merging his firm, David A Meeker & Associates, into Edward Howard in 1989.

Joining Meeker and Young as a senior facilitator in the new venture is Donald Eagon, former vice president, global communication and investor relations, at Diebold. Previously, he was the senior public relations official for Figgie International and The Timken Company. He is also former chairman of the National Investor Relations Institute.

“There is a very real connection between communicating well and the attainment of business goals,” says Young. “Never has there been a time when powerful communication is more important than right now when every organization is facing severe economic headwinds. Our training firm offers a way for communication skills to be enhanced without the need for large budgets or long-term commitments.”

Meeker-Young will allow clients to select from 14 training modules and plans to add other training modules and senior facilitators in the future.
