Olson Acquires Arizona Neighbor

Arizona public relations firm Olson Communications has acquired Phoenix-based SoapBox PR. The acquisition will take OCI’s anticipated fee income to $1.5 million annually, positioning it among the top 10 largest public relations firms in Arizona.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ—Arizona public relations firm Olson Communications has acquired Phoenix-based SoapBox PR. The acquisition will take OCI’s anticipated fee income to $1.5 million annually, positioning it among the top 10 largest public relations firms in Arizona.

Founded in 2002 by Michelle Olson, OCI specializes in media relations, events, public affairs, crisis communications, internal communications, and community relations, with a client base of primarily real estate-related companies. SoapBox PR was founded by Dana Arnold, also in 2002, and has similar areas of expertise to OCI, with niches in the real estate and development, food and beverage, and natural product industries.

Prior to the acquisition, the OCI team consisted of four full-time employees and three contractors.  The merged company employs 13 people. New OCI clients obtained through the acquisition nclude Centex Homes Arizona, Fox Restaurant Concepts, Main Street Commons, Phoenix Art Museum, Scottsdale Culinary Institute, The Plaza Lofts at Kierland Commons, Wildflower Bread Company, and Woodbine Southwest Corporation.
