SAO PAULO — Oracle has handed its Latin America PR brief to Burson-Marsteller, adding to the global product PR work the agency secured earlier this year.

The remit mirrors Oracle's global PR brief, which involves positioning the company as the industry leader in cloud computing while also supporting its other products and services, including databases, applications and infrastructure hardware. The business was won following a competitive review.

“The real focus is to reposition and change the narrative in all the markets around the world to better to compete in the cloud category,” said a source familiar with the brief.

Like WPP's  Team Oracle, the team is being led by Burson. The remit covers several markets across Latin America, among them: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, México, Perú, Venezuela and Costa Rica.

Prior to this, Oracle worked with several agencies across markets.

Last month, Oracle hosted its OpenWorld conference in Sao Paulo. It is understood Oracle has also put forth a social media RFP in Latin America that hasn't been awarded.
