LONDON—Orange has selected GolinHarris as its U.K. public relations agency, following what the company described as an “extremely tight” pitch process with Edelman. The announcement follows a two-month process that Orange undertook to consolidate the work of its two core PR agencies, Edelman and Golin. Prior to the decision, Edelman supported Orange U.K. with business PR while GolinHarris provided corporate and consumer support.

GolinHarris will now support Orange across all three segments.

According to Stuart Jackson, communications director for Orange U.K.: “Both Edelman and Golin Harris have supported Orange brilliantly in the past and are highly respected for their work across all parts of the organization. We set out to consolidate our two main PR agencies into a single account in order to make things more efficient and effective for our in-house team and the company in general. As expected, this was extremely tight. Two great agencies were pitching for a large chunk of our business and the creativity, passion and professionalism shown by both teams made this a very tough decision.”

Edelman will continue to work with Orange on the company’s digital PR and will also continue to operate as the Orange Group’s U.K. agency, supporting the Orange Group team based in London, as well as handling Orange Business Services group PR work.
