Overton Returns to Edelman; Ogilvy Promotes Brown

Cheryl Overton has returned to Edelman as senior vice president in the firm’s New York consumer practice. Overton has expertise in branding, consumer health, food and trends.

NEW YORK—Cheryl Overton has returned to Edelman as senior vice president in the firm’s New York consumer practice. Overton has expertise in branding, consumer health, food and trends.

In her new role, she will report to Lisa Sepulveda, executive vice president and general manager of the New York consumer brands practice. The practice, which has more than 80 employees, recently picked up new business from Trojan, Rogaine and Nicorette, joining long standing brands such as Barilla, Advil, Hershey, Dove and Claritin.

Overton rejoins from Ogilvy PR where she was senior vice president and group director of marketing in New York.

NEW YORK—Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide has promoted Lorra Brown to group director of the consumer marketing practice in New York. 

For the past two years, Brown has been heading up a number of the group’s largest clients, including Cendant Travel Distribution Services and the American Red Cross Save a Life Tour, which was the largest blood drive initiative in their history. Her team also recently handled assignments for Target Stores, Coca-Cola, Jackson Hewitt and Virgin Atlantic Airways.

The consumer marketing practice at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide has had substantial growth over the past year, with new clients including LG Electronics, Cheaptickets.com, Pizza Hut, Giant Bicycles, True Beginnings, Johnsonville Sausage, Lodging.com and DuPont.
