PARIS—PARIS—Procter & Gamble has selected a team from Publicis Groupe—including public relations talent from across the company’s network—to provide marketing support for the company’s Oral-B products. The team will include professionals from Publicis, Starcom MediaVest Group, Digitas, Arc and Saatchi & Saatchi X and will provide advertising, package design, interactive marketing, media planning and buying, public relations, and shopper marketing.

A soon-to-be-created company within Publicis Groupe will work exclusively on Oral B business. The group won the account in a competition with several Omnicom agencies, including BBDO, which had previously worked on Oral-B business.

According to P&G president of global oral care Charlie Pierce: “Publicis Groupe will lead a new agency model for Oral-B. The new model encompasses not only advertising agency responsibility, but is designed to integrate multidisciplinary areas… We’re changing in a big way our approach to agency support for the Oral-B business. Our desire for seamless integration has led us to implement an agency model that brings together a dynamic group of agency resources to deliver holistic communication plans for Oral-B moving forward.”

LONDON—Manning Selvage & Lee has been appointed by Royal & SunAlliance to handle corporate public relations for its broker division, which provides commercial and personal insurance solutions distributed via brokers, in the U.K. MS&L will initially focus on promoting the division’s expertise in the property investment and construction sectors, as well as building awareness of the insurer’s commitment to issues such as road safety and climate change.

Tina Coates, External Communications Manager for Royal & SunAlliance, says MS&L “demonstrated a deep understanding both of the broker market place in general and our business in particular, which fed through to some extremely strong and highly relevant ideas.”

The six-strong team at MS&L will be led by Duncan Hart, head of financial services.
