COLUMBUS, OH—Paul Werth Associates, a Columbus-based public relations and public affairs firm, has acquired The Haunty Agency, a full-service branding, advertising and marketing communications consulting company.
The acquisition will enable Werth to provide a more comprehensive and integrated range of marketing consulting services in response to growing demand from clients, says agency president Sandra Harbrecht. The Haunty Agency, founded in 1989 by Jack Haunty, will add expertise in advertising, design and video production and will relocate from Worthington to the Paul Werth offices in the state capital.
“Now, we will be able to more closely align the research, branding, design and advertising components of an organization’s communications under the strategic umbrella of public relations,” says Harbrecht,. “I have known and respected Jack’s work for many years. As we looked at acquisition candidates, The Haunty Agency rose to the top of that list. The business and personal philosophies of our companies are a good match.”
Founded in 1963, PWA serves clients including Chemical Abstracts Service, Capital University, McGraw-Hill Education, Ohio State University Department of Athletics and Huntington Banks. The Haunty Agency clients include National Auto Care, Employee Benefit Management Corp., Renier Construction, T. Marzetti Company and Woeber’s Mustard Company.
The new acquisition will be known as The Haunty Agency, a Paul Werth Associates Company. Jack Haunty will retain the title of president of The Haunty Agency and will also be a senior vice president of Paul Werth Associates. Haunty employees Mark Poprocki, art director, and Kim Mentzer, account coordinator, will make the move too, bringing the number of employees at PWA to 20.
