HARRISBURG, PA—Triad Strategies, one of Pennsylvania’s leading public and corporate affairs consultancies, is launching a new strategic communications division. Tony May, most recently executive vice president at Neiman Group, one of the region’s largest consumer advertising agencies, will lead the new group.

May, who launched Neiman Group’s widely respected social marketing and issues management division nine years ago, also served as chief communications advisor to two Pennsylvania governors. At Triad, he will focus on developing and implementing communications strategies for the firm’s corporate, non-profit and association clients.

According to Triad president Roy Wells, “Today, successful government relations campaigns are not always executed on a ‘who you know’ basis. Sometimes, the best way to reach policy-makers in Washington or Harrisburg or Trenton or Annapolis is by going directly to the key stakeholders at the grass roots level.” He said clients increasingly see government relations as one aspect of a larger communications spectrum.

May said he was making the change to focus on his core competencies—reputation management, change communications and social marketing.
