Charlotte Wray, most recently managing director and head of the healthcare practice at Edelman subsidiary Zeno Group, is leaving to join Brodeur Group, where she will start a new unit, Mosaic Health Communications.

NEW YORK—Charlotte Wray, most recently managing director and head of the healthcare practice at Edelman subsidiary Zeno Group, is leaving to join Brodeur Group, where she will start a new unit, Mosaic Health Communications, focused on healthcare. Brodeur has been seeking to diversify beyond its core expertise in technology, and in recent years has added clients from the financial services and healthcare sectors.

DAYTONA BEACH, FL—The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) has chosen Marcus Jadotte to launch and manage its newly-created public affairs department. As managing director of public affairs, Jadotte will direct the development and execution of a comprehensive governmental affairs strategy in support of NASCAR’s ongoing initiatives and provide strategic direction to NASCAR’s interaction with community and non-governmental organizations. He will also oversee the NASCAR diversity affairs department. Jadotte joined NASCAR in March 2005 as senior manager for national media outreach, and was responsible for strategic planning and execution of all media outreach efforts nationally. Prior to joining NASCAR, he served as the deputy campaign manager for the Kerry-Edwards 2004 Campaign.

NEW YORK—Deborah Straus has been promoted to vice president in the New York office of CRT/tanaka. She was previously management supervisor with responsibility for creating, supervising and executing programs for HoMedics, Chadwick’s of Boston, Cocktails by Jenn and Wines from Rioja. She will now become a member of the agency’s board of advisors. Also promoted are Cheryl Robinson and Christian Munson to senior account executive in the firm’s Richmond office; Jennifer Lucado and Courtney Ware to account executive in Richmond; and Erin Pellegrin to account executive in New York.

HOUSTON, TX—Pierpont Communications has added communication veteran, Terry Hemeyer as its new senior counsel. He will advise clients on current successful strategies and tactics. Earlier, Hemeyer served in top management at Pennzoil and was the senior communications executive for Service Corporation International. He is also the senior lecturer on the faculty of the University of Texas at Austin College of Communication and teaches crisis management in the Rice University Jones School MBA program. 

NEW YORK—G.S. Schwartz & Co. has added Douglas Novarro as senior vice president. In addition, Denise Capuano has joined as assistant vice president and Daniel Charles has joined as account executive. Novarro has worked at Ketchum and Magnet Communications and managed public relations programs for industry leading companies including Honeywell, Comcast, FedEx, Heinz and Bayer.

BALTIMORE—Imre Communications, an integrated brand communications firm, has hired Shawn Draper as vice president of its home and building business unit. Prior to joining Imre, Draper worked at SBR, a building products company and subsidiary of Fortune Brands, and with Woodcraft Supply Corporation and Andersen Windows.
