Matthew Chadderdon has been named vice president for corporate communications and global brand management at medical device manufacturer Welch Allyn.

SKANEATELES FALLS, NY—Matthew Chadderdon has been named vice president for corporate communications and global brand management at medical device manufacturer Welch Allyn. In his new role, Chadderdon will be responsible for overseeing all Welch Allyn communications, advertising, and global brand management activities, with an emphasis on global programs.  Most recently, Chadderdon worked as a senior executive at Source Sentinel, a joint venture between Sensis O’Brien & Gere, and SUNY ESF. Prior to that, he spent several years at Carrier Corporation where he was vice president, corporate communications and community relations and responsible for managing all facets of Carrier’s global communications programs. He has also held positions in government including legislative assistant to former U.S. Sen. Daniel P. Moynihan.

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Qorvis Communications has hired J. David Harvey as a managing director.  He will lead marketing and business development efforts   Harvey is joining Qorvis from WilmerHale, the largest law firm in Washington, D.C., where he was a senior business development professional and played an important role in managing the growth of WilmerHale’s marketing department after it was created by the merger of Wilmer Cutler Pickering and Hale & Dorr in 2004. Prior to joining WilmerHale, he was an official with the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority.

NEW YORK—Bliss Gouverneur & Associates has added six new professionals including  Jason Chupick as a vice president, Stacey Thompson as a senior account executive and Katherine Kilpatrick, Neha Mukherjee and Rebecca Neufeld at the client services level. Chupick was previously a vice president of media relations at Plesser Holland.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Charlie Jones has been named vice president of marketing and communications at the Heart Rhythm Society, a leader in science, education, and advocacy for cardiac arrhythmia professionals and patients. He is responsible for overseeing the marketing, advertising, public education and communications efforts of the Society, the primary information resource on heart rhythm disorders.  Jones previously served at AT&T as international corporate relations director, working throughout Asia Pacific. Most recently, he was director of marketing and member services at the National Association of College and University Business Officers.

MELBOURNE, FL—Harris Corporation, an international communications and information technology company, has named Jim Burke vice president of corporate communications. He will be responsible for company-wide branding, media relations, advertising and other external communications activities.
  Prior to joining Harris, Burke was vice president of communications for AuthenTec, a privately held biometric fingerprint sensor supplier. Previously, he was senior vice president at Edelman; director of media relations for Harris Corporation; and communications specialist in IBM’s corporate headquarters.

PHILADELPHIA—CBS Television Stations promoted Joanne Calabria to the newly created position of vice president of public affairs, and Mike Nelson to vice president of communications. Both will report jointly to station group president and CEO Tom Kane and CBS senior VP of corporate communications Dana McClintock.
