Weber Shandwick has promoted Peter Mancusi, Lisa Pintchman and Patty Stone to the position of executive vice-president in the firm’s New England office.

NEW YORK—Peppercom has hired Debbie Spalding as chief financial officer. Spalding moves to Peppercom from Chandler Chicco Agency, where she had worked since the firm’s inception in 1995. At Peppercom, she will be charged with streamlining reporting systems to deliver greater efficiencies and will use her international experience of managing rapid organizational growth to help integrate Peppercom’s European and North American offices. She will also play a central role in staff management and human resources issues. Spalding’s appointment comes as Fran Bainbridge, Peppercom’s chief controller who has been at the agency for eight years, moves into semi-retirement.

CAMBRIDGE, MA—Weber Shandwick has promoted Peter Mancusi, Lisa Pintchman and Patty Stone to the position of executive vice-president in the firm’s New England office. Since joining Weber Shandwick in 2002, former Boston Globe editor Mancusi has led the New England office’s corporate communications practice. Pintchman, who co-heads the office’s technology practice, has served as a key member of the management team since 1987. Stone, who leads the technology practice with Pintchman, has spent 16 years with the firm.

NEW YORK—Syd Steinhardt has been named vice president of Ferrell Communications, an affiliate of Ferrell Law. Ferrell Law is a law firm based in Miami that specializes in litigation, arbitration, regulatory compliance, criminal defense and private client wealth.  In his new position, Steinhardt manages all marketing efforts, including media relations, for the firm’s New York office.

STUART, FL—Liam Sullivan, former news managing editor with Fox’s WGHP in Greensboro, NC, has been hired as vice president of public relations at the Stuart, Fla., advertising and marketing firm Cotton & Company. Prior to his Fox News position, Sullivan was bureau chief at the NBC owned and operated station WTVJ in Miami.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Gage Business Consulting and Government Affairs has added Katherine Friess as legislative specialist. She is handling legislative work out of the firm’s Capitol Hill office. Friess most recently worked at the lobby shop of Black, Kelly, Scruggs & Healey (now BKSH & Associates), and has also held positions on Senator Larry Pressler’s (R-S.D.) staff.
