EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ—MWW Group has hired Garrett Glaser as vice president in the firm’s corporate communications practice. Glaser has previously worked both as an on-air correspondent covering breaking stories around the world and as a public relations advisor. At CNBC from 1997 to 2005, Glaser covered business stories and in 2001 was named the network’s retail and apparel specialist. He joins MWW Group from Strategy XXI Group in New York, where he was a senior consultant on corporate social responsibility initiatives for clients including Nestle, Continental AG, Wal-Mart and McDonalds. Previously, he was vice president of media relations for EMC Communications in Newport Beach, Cal.
WEST KINGSTON, RI—American Power Conversion, a leader in power and cooling management solutions, has named Aaron Davis to the newly created role of vice president, communications and chief marketing officer. Davis will direct overall branding and demand creation strategies for the company. Davis has more than 17 years of experience at APC and has held a variety of marketing, channel management and sales positions at the company, including worldwide vice president of sales and marketing for the small systems segment and most recently serving as vice president, worldwide marketing and communications.
CAMBRIDGE, MA—Weber Shandwick has named Greg Peverill-Conti as vice president and leader of the New England office’s emerging technology practice. Peverill-Conti was most recently at Davies Murphy Group in Burlington, Mass., where he served as a key member of the senior team running multiple accounts including eHarmony, StreamBase Systems and Interwise. Prior to Davies Murphy, Peverill-Conti spent more than eight years with Blanc & Otus, where he served as a vice president and helped establish and grow the Boston office, and with GCI Group in San Francisco and Boston.
