NEW YORK—Business-to-business specialist Peppercom has opened an office in London’s West End to provide strategic communications and public relations to serve current global clients and prospective European companies. Headquartered in New York, Peppercom also maintains an office in San Francisco.

Peppercom U.K. opens with client Active International, one of the world’s leading corporate trading firms, but agency president Steve Cody says the office was opened in response to interest from several existing clients.

“Some of our larger multinational clients have been asking us why we don’t have a London office,” says Cody. “Some of them are not exactly thrilled with their existing relationships in London. We did a lot of due diligence and we found that while there were a lot publicity oriented firms in the market, we could bring something different and distinctive to the market, because of our focus on the strategic end of the business, and our focus on sales and partnerships.”

The new office will be managed by 14-year industry veteran Jacki Vause, who is named managing director. In 1995, Vause founded and led Vause & Associates, a specialized information technology public relations firm. Two years later, Vause & Associates merged with Flapjack Communication, which subsequently merged with Midnight Communications, becoming part of one of the leading independent PR consultancies in the U.K.

Vause will be joined at Peppercom U.K. by Marya Pongrace, a two-year veteran of Peppercom’s New York office.

Says Peppercom co-founder Ed Moed, “We’ve been analyzing the U.K. market for some time and believe that our differentiators, in combination with Jacki’s deep market experience, will be well received. What was missing up until this point was a senior individual such as Jacki who understood the agency world and possessed a demonstrated entrepreneurial background.”
