NEW YORK—Whirlpool Corporation has retained Peppercom as its new public relations agency of record for its flagship Whirlpool brand. The scope of work includes integrated marketing communications, media relations, word-of-mouth initiatives and event coordination. The work also will extend to the corporation’s Gladiator GarageWorks brand.

According to Whirlpool director of public relations Audrey Reed-Granger, Peppercom demonstrated “great creativity and assembled a stellar team” in response to the brand’s agency review. The firm will begin work on July 1, replacing Edelman subsidiary Zeno, which was the brand’s agency of record for seven years.

Carmichael Lynch Spong,, based in Minneapolis, will continue its agency of record work for the Maytag and Amana brands, which Whirlpool recently acquired. CLS has represented these brands since 2000 and 2001 respectively.
