NEW YORK—Hill & Knowlton USA has named Ruth Pestana as director of strategic services. Pestana wll be responsible for bringing greater insights and analytics to Hill & Knowlton’s work for its clients, tying together existing expertise across the Hill & Knowlton network into a strategic framework. She will report directly to MaryLee Sachs, president and CEO, Hill & Knowlton USA.
Previously, Pestana was a part of Hill & Knowlton’s global corporate group reporting directly to worldwide Chairman and CEO Paul Taaffe on special projects. Pestana led the development of the Hill & Knowlton global brand positioning and the re-launch of its corporate identity earlier this year.
“The strategic services directive will provide new leadership and vision, especially with Ruth’s strong consultancy background and her international work experience with various WPP Group companies,” says Sachs.
Specifically, Pestana will work with account teams throughout Hill & Knowlton USA to provide strategic planning sessions for clients, focusing on aligning powerful communications with clients’ business objectives, and she will work with the Hill & Knowlton research and business intelligence units to further strengthen the company’s capabilities in these areas.
Additionally, Pestana will assist actively with the pursuit of specific business opportunities, and will serve as the firm’s liaison on BrandZ., WPP’s brand equity study, and SportZ., WPP’s sports brand equity study.
