CHICAGO—Edelman has appointed Timothy Peters, a former director of corporate affairs at McDonald’s, as a senior vice president in its Chicago’s corporate affairs practice. At McDonald’s, Peters served as senior director of global stakeholder engagement and previously as director of corporate citizenship and issues management. While there, he led the development of a public affairs function in the U.S. business and co-led the company’s global advisory council on health and wellness.
Most recently, Peters was founder and principal of Allianceworks Group, a public affairs consultancy specializing in issues management, advocacy and communications strategies for a range of political and corporate clients, including Cargill and the National Dairy Council.
Previously, he worked in various legislative and political roles for former U.S. House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R., Ill.), U.S. Rep Jerry Moran (R., Kan.) and for U.S. Rep Robin Hayes (R., NC). He also served as deputy director of the Commission on 21st Century Production Agriculture, a congressional advisory committee on food and agricultural policy.
