PhRMA's Mattingly Joins APCO

Alixe Mattingly, formerly head of public affairs for the Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers of America, is joining APCO Worldwide as senior vice president for healthcare communications.

WASHINGTON, D.C., June 22—Alixe Mattingly, formerly head of public affairs for the Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers of America, is joining APCO Worldwide as senior vice president for healthcare communications. Mattingly will work closely with Wayne Pines, former associate commissioner for public affairs at the Food & Drug Administration, to expand the firm’s healthcare practice.

 Prior to his position at PhRMA, Mattingly was senior vice president for public affairs for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, and was deputy White House press secretary in the first Bush administration.
