NEW YORK—Porter Novelli has named Randolph Pitzer as managing director of its Chicago office. With more than 25 years of experience, Pitzer boasts a strong background in public relations, communications and marketing for both clients and agencies. He joins Porter Novelli from Edelman, where he spent the past eight-and-a-half years as EVP and general manager in the Chicago office’s corporate practice.
At Edelman, Pitzer focused on technology and business-to-business accounts, working on clients including A.T. Kearney, Motorola and Qwest Communications (both enterprise and consumer) among others. His agency career also has included tenures at both Ketchum and Ogilvy PR.
On the corporate side, Pitzer has served in a variety of marketing and communications roles for such organizations as Mercantec, an e-commerce applications software developer; Spyglass, an Internet software provider; and SPSS, a business intelligence software supplier.
Pitzer will report to Anthony Viceroy, Porter Novelli’s president.
