Platt Joins FD in Corporate Development Role

FD has appointed Nicolas Platt as managing director of corporate development in the Americas. Based in New York, he will work with members of the firm’s senior management team in the targeting and development of new business opportunities.

NEW YORK—FD has appointed Nicolas Platt as managing director of corporate development in the Americas. Based in New York, he will work with members of the firm’s senior management team in the targeting and development of new business opportunities and will report to Ed Reilly, CEO of FD Americas. 

 

Most recently, Platt was managing director, mergers and acquisitions at the investment banking firm Rodman & Renshaw.  Before joining Rodman, he was president of the North American operations of German corporate and financial communications specialist CNC. He has also held leadership positions at Robinson Lake Bozell Sawyer Miller, ran several of the practices at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, and headed up the corporate practice at Burson-Marsteller.

 

Platt was also previously executive vice president of strategic planning for NovAtel Communications and worked in Calgary and Hong Kong, and spent 13 years on Wall Street as an executive with both the New York and American Stock Exchanges. At the Amex, he led the international efforts with particular focus on the U.K., Western Europe, the Pacific Basin, Mexico and South America and ran the Exchange’s Investment Banking Division.
