LOS ANGELES—Roger Pondel, Cecilia Wilkinson and Robert Whetstone have re-established their investor relations counseling firm as an independent entity, forming PondelWilkinson after acquiring its from Manning, Selvage & Lee, which had acquired Pondel/Wilkinson Group in 2001. Terms were not disclosed.

“Regaining our entrepreneurial status enables us to focus solely on enhancing our investor relations and corporate and financial communications practice,” said Pondel, who serves as president and chief executive officer of the newly formed firm. “Our move to independence also provides us with growth opportunities as we continue to deliver the highest level of service, strategic thinking and communications counsel to our clients and assure a rewarding working environment for our professionals.

“Most important, the transaction has been structured to assure a seamless transition for the firm’s clients and employees.”

Pondel says the past three years with MS&L had not provided as many opportunities to work together with the PR firm as initially expected, but that the two firms would continue to work together when appropriate.

PondelWilkinson will continue to be headquartered in Los Angeles, with offices and affiliates in New York, Boston and Portland, Oregon.
