PORTLAND, OR—In the wake of recent expanded service into Portland by international air carrier Lufthansa, the Port of Portland has selected Edelman to handle communications. The Port of Portland will partner with Edelman to elevate the region’s visibility as a vital international hub.

Edelman, which opened a Portland office last year, will work closely with the Port and other state and local agencies to implement a campaign to unite Portland with overseas markets.

“The new Lufthansa service provides an unprecedented opportunity to drive business to our state,” said Bob Applegate, manager of government and media relations at the Port. “We believe Edelman’s global network and media expertise both at home and abroad will leverage these new partnerships to the fullest and attract additional business from Europe.”

Edelman Portland led the agency’s pitch and will provide strategic counsel and tactical execution for the account, while serving as the control center for international operations.
