LONDON, August 8—Porter Novelli International has tapped two leading Russian PR consultancies and a division of leading political agency Image Contact to form R.I.M Porter Novelli.

The merger between Triangle Porter Novelli, R.I.M Agency and the corporate business division of Image Contact will become Porter Novelli’s partner in the Russian market. The merger makes R.I.M. one of the largest consultancies in the market.

“Triangle Porter Novelli was founded in 1999 to bring together the diversified communication resources of R.I.M, Mikhailov & Partners and Image Contact,” said Igor Pisarsky, president of R.I.M Porter Novelli. “Today, we strongly believe that further integration is needed to deliver quality PR services.”

As part of the restructuring, Mikhailov & Partners has elected to continue as an independent agency.

Clients of the new entity include Gillette, Mars, Avon, the Office of the Mayor of Moscow and the Russian Chamber of Business and Commerce. The business is organized around PN’s four global practice areas: corporate and public affairs, healthcare, technology and consumer.

“Although relatively young, the Russian business market is opening vast opportunities both internally and for foreign investors,” says Neil Backwith, CEO of Porter Novelli’s EMEA region. “It is therefore vital we have a strong team on the ground with an in-depth knowledge of Russian business and political systems to provide local representation for international clients. The merger will help us to build on what we had already achieved with Triangle Porter Novelli.”
