NEW YORK—Progressive, the country’s third largest auto insurance group, has selected Allison & Partners, an independent communications firm with national reach, as its public relations firm of record. Allison & Partners will implement a fully integrated communications program focused on both consumer and trade media outreach. The program will promote the overall Progressive brand, as well as its individual product lines including: private passenger auto, commercial auto, boat and personal watercraft, motorcycle and RV.

A key focus of Allison & Partners’ work with Progressive throughout 2008 will surround two major sponsorships the insurer announced this year: the Progressive Insurance Automotive X Prize, an international competition designed to inspire a new generation of viable, super fuel-efficient vehicles, and Progressive’s partnership with the Cleveland Indians, which involves a 16-year deal for the naming rights to the ballpark—now officially named Progressive Field.
