Public Affairs Veteran Bolger Joins Burson-Marsteller

Burson-Marsteller has appointed strategic communications veteran David Bolger as a managing director in its public affairs practice. Bolger will be based in Washington, D.C., and report to U.S. public affairs practice chair Mike Lake.

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Burson-Marsteller has appointed strategic communications veteran David Bolger as a managing director in its public affairs practice. Bolger will be based in Washington, D.C., and report to U.S. public affairs practice chair Mike Lake.

 

Prior to joining Burson-Marsteller, Bolger was president of Executive Briefing, a consulting firm established to assist clients with strategic communications, media relations and crisis management needs and to provide public policy communications counsel to U.S. and E.U.-based firms.

 

Prior to founding Executive Briefing, Bolger was director of global public relations for UPS, where he managed staff and consultants responsible for all internal and external communications on public policy issues. He also developed communications strategies and tactics for use in Washington, D.C., and around the world that included media relations, public relations, crisis communications, government relations and general communications for external and internal audiences.

 

Earlier in his career, Bolger was vice president for communications for the United States Telecom Association; director of public affairs for the Federal Railroad Administration and staff assistant to U.S. Senator Joe Biden.
