Publicis Taps Pastel for Leadership Role in Bay Area

Publicis Dialog has named Kevin Pastel executive principal and managing director of its San Francisco public relations operations.

  SAN FRANCISCO, August 23—Publicis Dialog has named Kevin Pastel executive principal and managing director of its San Francisco public relations operations. The San Francisco office of Publicis is one of its largest in the U.S., including the operations of the former Evans Group and high-tech PR specialist Purdom PR, acquired by Publicis three years ago.
 
Pastel will report to Andy Hopson, president and chief operating officer of Publicis Dialog in the U.S. and Stacey Paynter, chief executive officer of Publicis Dialog, San Francisco. He will be responsible for business development, client strategies and staff management. Ned Purdom, who held the position, will become executive principal and account director, overseeing the management and development of the firm’s technology accounts.
 
“When Ned expressed his desire to focus on key accounts and technology new business development, we knew we had some big shoes to fill,” says Paynter. “We are thrilled that Kevin is joining the team and we are confident his experience in successfully implementing integrated programs is in line with our holistic approach to communications.”
 
Pastel was most recently partner, marketing & creative services at Porter-Novelli in San Francisco. Previously, he was vice president of EvansGroup, San Francisco.
