TYSONS CORNER—Qorvis Communications has named David Whitmore, formerly executive vice president and chief financial officer at Shandwick Washington and The Cassidy Companies, as CFO and chief operating officer. The move reunites Whitmore with former Shandwick Public Affairs president Michael Petruzzello, now managing partner at Qorvis.

Says Petruzzello, “Whitmore has a tremendous track record working with public relations and communications companies, which makes him a perfect fit to oversee our finances and operations.”
In his previous role, Whitmore was responsible for overseeing the operation of six public relations, lobbying and advertising firms with a combined operating income of $72 million. He also led the acquisition team for Weber Shandwick in North America.
