MIAMI—Burson-Marsteller has namedAl Quintana as chairman of its U.S. Hispanic Practice. Quintana will manage the firm’s business in the U.S. Hispanic market from Burson-Marsteller’s Latin America headquarters in Miami, and will report to Santiago Hinojosa, CEO of Burson-Marsteller Latin America.

Quintana will lead a national team of bilingual and multicultural professionals based out of Burson-Marsteller offices in Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco, San Juan and Washington, D.C. His primary focus is on providing strategic client counsel on developing and executing Hispanic market public relations campaigns and growing the practice.

“The 2000 U.S. Census validated what many of us already knew about the dynamic growth in the U.S. Hispanic market,” says Quintana. “Hispanic consumers play a critical role in our country’s economic engine and can not be ignored by any company looking to grow its business in the United States.”

Quintana was most recently the vice president of marketing communications for the Telefonica SA subsidiary in the United States.
