BOSTON—Racepoint Group has expanded its healthcare and life sciences practice, with new clients including Thermo Fisher Scientific, which has selected Racepoint as one of its global public relations and social media partners. 

To support this growth Racepoint has appointed Nigel Smith (pictured) as senior vice president of the agency’s global healthcare practice. Smith has experience in media technology, healthcare IT, consumer OTC, diagnostics and life sciences.

Other new clients include Plasma Surgical, an advanced technology for surgical cutting and coagulation; UMass Memorial Medical Center (division of vascular and endovascular surgery); HealthEdge, which created a software platform for healthcare payors; Jiff, which provides a HIPAA-compliant private healthcare social network; Sanovas, a leading developer of innovative micro-surgical devices for diagnosing and treating cancer and chronic diseases; and Hello Health, which provides a patient management platform and professional services for practitioners.
