CHICAGO, January 10—Kathy Rand is stepping down as managing director of Manning Selvage & Lee’s Chicago office after 10 years in the job. Nancy Brennan, senior vice president and deputy managing director of the office, has been named to replace her.

“Over the last 10 years, Kathy has built a powerful presence for MS&L in Chicago and has created an environment where our people and our clients are the top priority,” says agency chief executive Lou Capozzi.  “As deputy managing director, Nancy has worked closely with Kathy in growing the office and developing award-winning programs year after year.”

Brennan, a 16-year MS&L veteran, has extensive expertise in corporate communications, crisis communications, issues management and advocacy. During her tenure at MS&L, she has worked in three of the firm’s offices: Washington, DC, New York and for the last nine years, Chicago. Prior to joining MS&L, she worked for two years at the Greater Washington Board of Trade.

Rand is the third veteran executive to leave MS&L in the past few months. In November, Monita Buchwald and New York general manager Lonny Unger retired from the firm, although the continue to serve as counselors.
