NEW YORK, January 11—Paul Rand has been named director of the global technology practice at Ketchum. Rand, whose Chicago-based technology PR firm Corporate Technology Communications was acquired by Ketchum a year ago, had most recently served as associate director of the practice. He succeeds Paul McKeon, who will continue part-time through the end of March.

McKeon will also transfer his responsibility for overseeing Ketchum’s digital strategy to Andy Roach, chief information officer.

Ketchum chief executive Ray Kotcher praised McKeon “for his significant contributions to
Ketchum and his commitment to a smooth succession. Under his leadership, Ketchum now is home to a world-class technology practice with a solid foundation supporting it.”

McKeon joined Ketchum in 1997 when it acquired his Atlanta-based firm Crescent
Communications.

Ketchum’s global technology practice employs nearly 200 professionals in more than two-dozen offices and serves clients including Transmeta, Cingular, Verio, Intersil and Nokia.
