Rasky Baerlein Names Meade as Managing Director

Rasky Baerlein Strategic Communications has named Peter Meade, who recently retired as executive vice president of corporate affairs at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, as managing director.

BOSTON—Rasky Baerlein Strategic Communications has named Peter Meade, who recently retired as executive vice president of corporate affairs at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, as managing director. As a communications and public affairs strategist for the firm, Meade will help service current clients and develop new business opportunities for the company throughout New England and the nation, including Rasky Baerlein’s growing Washington, D.C. office.

 

At Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Meade was responsible for internal and external communications, government affairs, and community affairs. He will continue to work as an independent consultant for Blue Cross in addition to his duties at Rasky Baerlein.

 

Prior to joining Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Meade served as president and CEO of The New England Council, and represented regional business concerns in Washington, D.C. He continues to work with the Council as a member of the board of directors. He also served as vice president at Warner Amex Cable Communications and earlier in his career a radio and television talk show host at WBZ radio and television.

 

In the 1970s, Meade served in a number of leadership positions in the administration of Mayor Kevin White including as public safety coordinator for the City of Boston during federally mandated school desegregation.
